Aquatica
Overview
Fed up with all the sunshine and heat? Need to cool off a bit but still want to have a great family day out? It’s time you plotted a course for SeaWorld’s water park, Aquatica.
Pack your towels and swimming gear to have a real splash at Aquatica. There are plenty of flumes, pools and waves to keep the family entertained for hours! Need a bit of rest whilst the young ones burn off some energy? Enjoy some rest and relaxation on the purpose-built beach. Feeling a little competitive? Settle some scores on the Taumata Racer slides! Or alternatively enjoy a white-knuckle experience at Roa’s Rapids. There really is plenty to do for all people of all ages, abilities and energy levels!
Soar past black and white Commerson’s dolphins on the flumes that cut through the water at the Dolphin Plunge ride. This is by far the most popular attraction in the park, so be prepared for a queue! For the truly daring, you could brave Ihu’s Breakaway Falls, where you are put into a 'breakaway box' to prepare you for the floor disappearing beneath you, before you get sent in a spin down the maze of slides! There are four colours, orange, green, purple and blue, but none of them will give you the same experience, so why not try out all four?!
Heading over to Loggerhead Lane might leave you dizzy as you could end up on Tassie’s Twisters! These are two flumes which spit you out into giant bowls where you will spin for what feels like an eternity, before you end up back in the lazy river!
For the little ones who are yet to acquire their ‘water wings’, trudge over to Walkabout Waters where there will be no shortage of things to help them have a whale of a time! This is a 60ft (18m) rain fortress with lots of smaller rides for them to enjoy.
There are plenty of life vests available around the park and some attractions demand that people wear them. The park is quite large (60 acres), so ensure you pack some comfy shoes in order to get between the attractions that everyone wants to go on! During peak periods please be warned that there is a limit on guest numbers in the park, so ensure you call ahead during these times to avoid disappointment. If it is temporarily closed for this reason, cross over the road and try out SeaWorld instead!
