A Queen takes to the throne at the Medieval Times dinner show
Have a KNIGHT to remember at one of the most popular dinner shows in Orlando! Feast on a medieval banquet whilst watching daring jousting matches and sword fights at the Medieval Times dinner show.
This experience takes you back to ten centuries ago, when guests would sit in the royal court and enjoy the pageantry and excitement of heroic knights performing thrilling swordplay whilst on horseback.
This year the Medieval Times brings you an all new tournament with Queen Doña Maria Isabella! For the first time in 34 years a female monarch has claimed the throne and a new Queen-focused show has debuted at the dinner show. Your little princesses should certainly enjoy watching the show now that there is a Queen in charge.
Medieval Fun Facts
- Medieval Times is based upon authentic Medieval history and is the true story of a noble family with documentation dating back to the 11th century.
- The show originally began with two dinner/entertainment complexes located in Majorca and Benidorm, Spain.
- The first North American castle in Kissimmee, Florida opened in December 1983. Medieval Times’ castles have since entertained more than 60 million guests.
- The Medieval Times also has a Museum of Torture, which features reproductions of torture instruments used during the Middle Ages (this might not be suitable for children).
The dinner show is housed inside an 11th century, European-style castle. You’ll find elaborate Medieval décor as you step inside, with coats of arms and an impressive collection of Medieval weaponry.
Medieval Tip - Arrive early so you can take a stroll through the Medieval village too.
When the trumpets sound you are escorted into the grand ceremonial arena. Here you are given a seat in one of the six colour-coded sections and you’ll receive a coloured paper crown too. Each colour represents a certain knight, who you can cheer on throughout the tournament.
Whilst you watch the show unfold, enjoy a four-course dinner served up by serfs and wenches. As part of the banquet, guests are served a meat feast including a rib, a half-roasted chicken and a split-seasoned baked potato. Be prepared to get a little messy, as it is served with no cutlery, just like they would have eaten in Medieval times! There is also a vegetarian option available if requested in advance. Your ticket only includes non-alcoholic drinks, but you can buy alcoholic drinks from the bar.
Medieval Tip - Let one of the team know if you’ve got a birthday or celebration, as they’ll make a special announcement during the show, which the kids will probably love.
At the Medieval Times it’s all about the show! This spectacular experience featuring knights on horseback will entertain the whole family. Watch the knights compete in authentic jousting matches and dangerous sword fights. The sound of trumpets and the roars of the crowd create an exciting atmosphere, as everyone cheers on their own knight to victory.
Medieval Tip - Following the evening’s final show, guests have the opportunity to receive autographs and mingle with cast members in the Hall of Arms.
It’s a very skilful show, as the knights of Medieval Times are highly trained in the use of many weapons, as well as horse riding. Witness a battle of champions with magnificent horses, in this fairytale-like dinner show.
“A thrilling and enjoyable dinner show. It was fun for the kids who got to bang on their shields and boo the bad guy, and it was fun for us adults too, who played right along.”
