Festivities this Christmas at Hollywood Studios
Spread a little Christmas cheer at Hollywood Studios for this year’s festive Flurry of Fun event! Beginning on 8th November and running through until 6th January, there is plenty of time to experience the enchanting spectacles that Disney is famous for! As it is included with regular park admission, you don’t even need a special ticket to attend the holiday festivities at Hollywood Studios this Christmas.
With a sprinkling of Disney magic there are Christmassy touches all around the park. As you make your way round Echo Lake past the ornaments, festive garlands and Christmas tree by the water, be sure to keep an eye out for Dinosaur Gertie who will be dressed in a festive outfit to mark the special occasion!
Don’t forget to seek out the Big Man himself as you explore Hollywood Studios; from 9th November to 24th December, kids will love having the chance to meet with Father Christmas at the park. If you are attending from 25th to the 31st December you will have a special chance to meet Santa Goofy instead! Remember to get a photo of the special moment for a memory that will last a lifetime!
Over at Toy Story Land, which opened earlier this year, your Toy Story friends – Buzz, Woody and Jessie – are fully embracing the festive spirit and will be dressing for the occasion! Along with their special seasonal costumes, the land as a whole is going all-out for Christmas! See if you can spot the cranberry and popcorn garland, green alien ornaments and a selfie Christmas card featuring our heroes! Listen out for the Christmassy background audio, including sleigh bells on the Slinky Dog Dash and holiday songs on the Alien Swirling Saucer ride, along with festive-themed lighting!
Marvel at the vibrant laser projections that swim across the Hollywood Tower Hotel during the Sunset Seasons Greetings show, which occurs as the sun starts to set! Here on the snowy Sunset Boulevard, look on in wonder as the Christmas stories of some of your all-time favourite Disney characters are displayed on large billboards, while the iconic Tower Hotel transforms with images that bring their heart-warming tales to life.
“A fun and magical way to end your day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I liked all the Christmas decorations (the tree in Echo Lake and Santa Gertie etc). The nighttime shows; Disney Movie Magic and Jingle Bell Jingle Bam were great! There were projections on the Tower of Terror later at night too that were holiday-themed and felt quite magical. I certainly recommend this park, especially during the holiday season!”
Watch as Mickey and Minnie recall a hometown Christmas, play a wrapping paper guessing game with the Toy Story characters, try to understand the Swedish Chef and reminisce with Olaf as he recalls his summer wish in a sparkling winter wonderland scene, that includes the Northern Lights and projected falling snow.
Join the elf stars of ABC’s computer-animated Christmas specials Prep & Landing as they search everywhere for Father Christmas in the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! show. This is a nightly 14-minute show with seasonal music, fireworks, special effects and state-of-the-art projections. Look to the rooftops and the buildings around you as they are brought to life. The evening draws in and the story of Wayne and Lanny’s search for Father Christmas starts to unfold! Watch as our intrepid duo make their way through scenes from classic Disney films such as a Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Bambi as well as The Nightmare Before Christmas, before their search culminates in a extraordinary showdown in Halloween Town – where they must save both Father Christmas and Christmas itself!
If you wanted to grab a bite to eat and get reserved viewing for the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! spectacular, which is the crescendo of the evening’s shows, the Holiday Dessert Party package might be for you. With seasonal snacks such as a cheese fondue with pretzel bread, as well as the classic yule log you’ll be in holiday heaven! Sip on the speciality alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and rub shoulders with a VIP Disney character! You’ll also get a reserved viewing area for the Disney Movie Magic show, as well as the Christmas spectacular.
“We did the holiday dessert party and thought it was worth every penny! All the food is Christmas-themed, you get photos with Santa Goofy and the dedicated viewing space was great. The park was really crowded and we could enjoy the show without being shoulder to shoulder with people.”
