Build some lasting memories at LEGOLAND’s Christmas Bricktacular
For an amazing ten days between 1st and 25th December – the longest event to date – the Christmas Bricktacular returns to LEGOLAND in 2018.
Have a jolly time exploring the park, discover the special festive decorations constructed entirely of LEGO, be enchanted by the sparkling Christmassy lights and watch the seasonal shows to get fully in the Christmas spirit! All of the Christmas activities we mention are included in the regular admission price, so you’ll need to plan your time well to make sure that you fit in all of the non-seasonal attractions too! For more information, we look at some of the things that you can see and do at LEGOLAND’s 150-acre site in more detail on our website.
As LEGOLAND is designed with children in mind, the park closes at 7pm during the Christmas Bricktacular so there is no need for them to stay up past their bedtimes! It’s worth arriving at 10am when the park opens though, to make sure that you get to see and experience all of the shows and attractions that you’ll be interested in. The rides do close at 6pm, but there is an additional hour of shopping available in the Fun Town area of the park, as well as the Toy Soldier Meet and Greet. As there is a lot going on you’ll probably benefit from downloading the Christmas Bricktacular flyer from the official LEGOLAND website, which gives details of where and when the festive events are being held, to help plan your day before you reach the park!
“The Christmas Bricktacular was a great way to get into the holiday spirit. They had some great activities for the kids.”
For most of the seasonal activities, head straight to MINILAND USA! If you are feeling competitive and think that your building skills are up to the task, why not try your hand at the Holiday-Themed Competition Build? You can create anything that you want, taking inspiration from the festive season, so let your imagination run wild and submit your entry for the chance to win a LEGO prize pack!
Get hands-on as you help to build the Holidays Around the World LEGO Mosaic. As every guest assembles their piece of the mosaic to the wall, with the help of the Master Model Builders, it eventually forms a large picture depicting a celebration of – you’ve guessed it – Christmas and the holiday season around the world! You can do more LEGO-based construction at the LEGO Christmas Tree Build, as you play your part to help build and adorn a 19ft-tall Christmas tree with special LEGO ornaments. You can even make your own ornaments to take home; head to the LEGO Factory Store in Fun Town to buy your special stocking filler – which you can even get engraved as a memento of your day out! More shopping opportunities await you at The Big Shop, near to the entrance, and if you spend $85 you will even receive a special gift – the LEGO Christmas Carousel, while stocks last!
After you have had your ornament engraved at the Factory Store, look out for the LEGO Toy Soldier marching about outside, who is looking forward to meeting you and having his photo taken! LEGO Santa is also spreading yuletide joy and posing for photos near Heartlake City, opposite the Fun Town 4D Theater.
If you have your camera to hand while making your way around the park, look out for the special holiday photo spots. Here you will find some intricately designed LEGO models created with thousands of bricks, that make a great backdrop to your family pictures. This year you can be snapped next to five special displays, the LEGO Christmas Tree, the LEGO Wreath, the LEGO Sleigh and Reindeer, a Snowman and a Holiday Globe.
“Snowfall, Christmas lights, LEGO Santa, Toy Soldiers, and a huge LEGO Christmas tree were just a few of the highlights of our Christmas visit. The carollers were a fun addition, too.”
For a sprinkling of Christmas magic, make sure all of the kids get involved at the Letters to Santa point in MINILAND. If you are in the park on or before Christmas Eve, your letters will be posted to the North Pole for the attention of Father Christmas himself; I hope you’ve been well-behaved this year! Something that all of your group can get involved in is Santa’s Helper Scavenger Hunt – where you need to scour the park for the elves who are helping Father Christmas discover who has been naughty or nice over the last 12 months! Head to the registration table in MINILAND to pick up the hunt sheet and then mark down what each elf is doing and where, and you can then pick up a reward for all of your efforts!
The elves are again out in force for the brand new Holly Jolly Jubilee show; lasting around 17 minutes, this is an interactive live musical show which is bound to get everyone in the Christmas spirit! Watch on as Father Christmas’ helpers celebrate in style after a busy year making toys in their workshop! You can catch this show several times during the day, so make sure you put it on your itinerary!
Festive Treats at LEGOLAND Florida
With all the walking you’ll be doing, you’ll need to take a well-earned break. Why not sit down at one of the many food outlets around the park and enjoy a bite to eat! There are plenty of special seasonal goodies on the menus at locations throughout the park – will you be able to resist a tasty festive treat? At the Market Restaurant near the park’s entrance, munch on Holiday-Inspired Rice Crispy Treats while sipping on a hot chocolate! If you are near to The Big Shop or by the NFPA Rescue Academy in the LEGO City zone, warm yourself up with some Cheerful Churros, while over at Granny’s Apple Fries, the signature fries take a seasonal twist! Munch on the yummy Christmas Spiced Granny Fries, or if you have a sweet tooth, nibble on the Pumpkin Spiced Blondie a la Mode! If you have a hankering for ice-cream, then you are in luck; there are delicious festive specials available in both the Ice Cream Parlor in Heartlake City, where you can enjoy one of the special Holiday-Dipped Cones, or at Kingdom Cones in LEGO Kingdom, which offer Pumpkin Flavor Burst Ice Cream!
As the evening draws to a close, be sure to spend a little time at the LEGO Christmas Tree Spectacular before you leave. Marvel at the spectacle of this 30ft LEGO tree, which is located near to the park’s entrance, and is brought to life with seasonal music, twinkling Christmas lights and projections. For an extra-special festive touch, flurries of snow fall from above to create a perfect winter wonderland!
