Tempt your taste buds with IHOP’s delicious Grinch-inspired dishes

Ever since Dr Seuss’ story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas was published over 60 years ago in 1957, the grumpy green-haired creature has been a staple character of Christmas. Spawning three feature-length films, including the latest 3D computer-animated adaptation starring Benedict Cumberbatch, the tale of the Grinch and how he is changed from a grouchy cynic who wants to steal Christmas, to having his heart opened by the generosity and kindness of a little girl chimes perfectly with the Christmas message of goodwill.

To celebrate this special seasonal message and the family magic of the new film, IHOP has partnered up with Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures to bring its guests a fantastic time-limited, one-of-a-kind holiday menu that is bound to warm the heart of even the Grinch himself!

IHOP is famous for its breakfasts, especially its delicious buttermilk batter pancakes! Founded in 1958, a year after the Grinch first appeared, the chain now has over 1750 restaurants around the globe, offering 65 different signature breakfast options as well as a fantastic selection of lunch and dinner items at affordable prices. It’s well worth a visit at any time, as you are bound to find something on their extensive menu that you’ll be unable to resist, but there is even more of a reason to visit this Christmas!

To mark the release of The Grinch, and available through to Monday 31st December, you can tempt your taste buds with delicious Grinch-inspired dishes, that look like they have come straight out of Whoville! The yummy holiday offerings include a side order of Grinch’s Green Pancakes – comprising of two green buttermilk pancakes served with sweet cream cheese icing, red candy hearts, and a green whipped topping. If you are feeling extra-hungry, the Who-Roast Beast Omelette served with three buttermilk pancakes is sure to fill you up: enjoy a large omelette brimming with shredded beef, Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, jalapeno peppers, onions, hash browns and topped with a BBQ sauce. Watch out – it’s nice and spicy – perfect to warm you up during the festive season! The Whoville Holiday Cheesecake French Toast is bound to make you smile this Christmas – enjoy two King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls toasted and layered with cheesecake filling, along with raspberry and whipped toppings – I hope you have got a sweet tooth! Round off your feast of all things Whoville with the Minty Who Hot Chocolate; a mint-syrup fused hot chocolate with green whipped topping and red candy hearts.

The kids also have a special Young Grinch Minty Who Hot Chocolate which is a smaller version of the Minty Who Hot Chocolate, as well as the Mt. Crumpit Kids Combo – a green buttermilk pancake with the sweet cream cheese icing, red candy hearts and green whipped topping, alongside scrambled egg, bacon, and a pork sausage.

To get you even more in the Christmas spirit and offering the perfect opportunity for all of the family to enjoy a great meal out, if you visit a participating IHOP between 4pm and 10pm during the promotional period, children aged 12 and under can receive a free main course from the kids menu with each purchase of an adult main meal; that is a festive treat that is certainly worth celebrating!
