Take a walk down SeaWorld’s newest street!
Pay a visit to the newest addition to SeaWorld and meet with all of your Sesame Street friends in a world of interactive play, colourful attractions and fun entertainment!
The immersive land of Sesame Street at SeaWorld opened on 27th March and is a great attraction for kids and adults who grew up with the Sesame Street characters during their childhoods! Seek out famous Sesame Street landmarks such as Mr Hooper’s Store, the stoop at number 123 and Big Bird’s Nest! Built on the former site of Happy Harbor, you are invited to come and meet the new neighbours and play with all of your furry Muppet friends, including Cookie Monster, Elmo and Abby.
Stroll along Sesame Street with your family for the first time and check out the great interactive attractions that will truly bring the world to life:
Head to the Bike Shop Tricycle Challenge to take part on a motion-sensing game, where you use your body to guide a virtual tricycle and collect a series of numbers before the timer runs out! Who will get the highest score in the family? Over at the Laundromat you can use touch screens on the washing machines to pop digital bubbles and discover what’s inside the drum. Stop by Elmo’s Window as it comes to life with special moments that you can dance, sing or play along to. Lift the handle of the Yip Yip’s Mail Slot to see your Martian pals enjoying a day at the beach, at a disco and various other fun locations! Ring Bert and Ernie’s Doorbell to hear how they respond, or you can even knock on Oscar’s Trash Can – though you might get a typically grouchy reply from him! Push the buttons on the Sesame Street Apartment Intercom for responses from Rosita, Abby, Grover and others! You can even speak into the Two-Headed Monster Pipe Telephone at the Ivy Building Door; as you talk into one end of the telephone, your normal voice will be transformed into a fun and friendly monster voice!
If you want to explore your creative side, then take on Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck Challenge – where you follow video instructions from Cookie Monster and Gonger to push the right ingredient buttons as you make some delicious meals! You can even design your own monster at Create-a-Monster – pick out all of their features and clothes before looking for your new friend being displayed on the Community Center windows!
Although there is plenty to see and interact with, there are also six new colourful themed-rides that your little monsters will be keen to experience!
Pick a flower pot and hop on board at Abby’s Flower Tower where you will be raised above the ground before spinning around and taking in a breathtaking view of the new land! Bounce up and down at Cookie Drop and catch a lift on one of Cookie Monster’s favourite treats on this family-friendly vertical drop ride. Big Bird also has his own ride – Big Bird’s Twirl ‘N’ Whirl, a teacup-style ride that will have little ones squealing in delight! Hop on board Elmo’s Choo Choo Train, an interactive train ride where Elmo is your guide. See if you can spot butterflies, caterpillars or even Elmo’s friends, the Twiddlebugs, on your journey! Explore Oscar the Grouch’s compost in the company of his pet worm in Slimey’s Slider, as you spin, slide and rock your way through apple cores and more! Over at Super Grover’s Box Car Derby, you’ll experience an action-packed steel roller coaster ride full of hills, turns and dives that is fun for kids and adults alike!
There are also a couple of areas that the kids will love playing in, whilst you take the weight off your feet and watch! They can head to the Count-Around Playground to burn off any extra energy or keep their cool over at the Rubber Duckie Water Works – an interactive water playground where they can join Ernie and Rubber Duckie for a splashing good time!
With so much to see and do, as well as the rest of SeaWorld to explore, make sure that you don’t miss the Sesame Street Party Parade – everyone will be up and grooving as you watch the colourful floats pass by with all of your favourite characters, either on board a float or dancing in the street! Wave to Elmo and Big Bird among others and soak up the party atmosphere. You can meet and greet the characters as well as take a photo, as you head backstage. Even while you are queuing there is plenty of entertainment – as you are shown some activities inspired by theatrical warm-ups!
Your visit to Sesame Street will be well and truly complete when you settle down to enjoy Storytime with Big Bird. Head to his Nest and listen as you are told a story by your favourite yellow bird and take some photos of this interactive experience that everyone is bound to love.
If you are feeling hungry after all of this exploration and fun, then head over to the Eats on the Street food trucks and speciality drinks stand. Enjoy a break out of the sun and enjoy a selection of healthy options, or sweet treats that will keep everyone happy!
Don’t forget to pick up some mementos of your visit with a trip to Hooper’s Store. With a great range of goodies, including exclusive clothing and plush characters, there is sure to be something for every budget. If you have purchased Elmo’s Interactive Light-Up Bubble Wand, you can interact with it at points around the park and unlock hidden secrets and special effects!
As this is a new land, it is likely to be incredibly popular with visitors to the park, so make sure that you arrive early as there is a lot to see and do, not to mention the rest of the attractions that SeaWorld has to offer. Don’t forget, you can buy your SeaWorld tickets from us on our website.
