Shops and Restaurants at ChampionsGate
With so many of our beautiful villas on ChampionsGate, Reunion, Solterra and other nearby communities we are often asked what shops and restaurants can be found at ChampionsGate. To help answer this question, let’s take a walk along each side of the boulevard!
We shall start our journey at Wendy’s, which was established in 1969, and has been serving up their signature old-fashioned square hamburger to hungry patrons ever since. The large car park is a perfect place to leave your vehicle as you explore the rest of ChampionsGate. Next to Wendy’s is a BP garage with a 24-hour Circle K store attached; you might want to remember this in case you need to refill the car, or pick up some emergency groceries late at night. The next stop along the street is Dunkin’ Donuts, where you can indulge your sweet tooth! Kids will love the wide selection of treats on offer here, but keep in mind that buying individual donuts can work out quite expensive – it’s much better value to buy a box of 12 and share them around the whole family! Other items available here include coffee, frozen beverages, sandwiches, yoghurts, muffins and cookies. If you’re in a hurry or just want to take some treats back to your villa, then consider using the drive-thru option.
Walking past Dunkin’ Donuts, you will come to 4 Corners Tavern, which is a family-friendly bar-style restaurant; with fantastic appetisers such as delicious smoked chicken nachos and baby back ribs, this is a great place to dine out. Main course options include a range of ‘Fresh Hand Smashed Burgers’, as well as salads and steaks. If you fancy a meal late at night on the way back from the parks, then this is a great place to try out – they have a special ‘After 10pm’ menu that is available until they close, which is at 2am every day except Sundays, when they shut at midnight. Why not try out one of the beers or cocktails on the menu too?
On exiting 4 Corners Tavern, the next place on our tour is the fantastically-named Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming; why not pop in to buy your prized pet a present? Jersey Mike’s Subs is next door – swing by to have your perfect takeaway sandwich made with the fillings of your choice. As a top tip, you can pick up an inexpensive lunch here ready to take to the theme parks in a cool box. If by now your feet are aching and you want a rest, then there is no better place to stop than the adjacent Planet Smoothie. Grab a delicious and healthy custom-made drink, blended using fresh fruit to enjoy while you sit and watch the world go by.
Do you want to treat your loved ones, or mark a special occasion with a great meal while you are on holiday in Orlando? If so, we highly recommend Osteria Italian Kitchen. Although the restaurant is a little more expensive than other eateries in the area, the food, service and wine list are in a league of their own. Even though the desserts here are just as good as the starters and main courses, you might be tempted to nip next door afterwards to Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt. Here you can pour your own yoghurt desert into a cup or cone (mixing your flavours if you want to!), and then sprinkle them with whatever catches your eye from the toppings bar. Nuts, sauces, sweets and Oreo cookie pieces are amongst the most popular choices!
If Tex-Mex food is your thing, then why not try out the adjoining restaurant? Tijuana Flats is an ideal place to go with the whole family and offers such delights as burritos, chimichangas, flautas (a fried tortilla dish), quesadillas and much, much more. Walk across a small side road to reach one of the best restaurants in the area for breakfast, First Watch! It’s not open in the evenings, but offers an amazing healthy menu for breakfast and lunch, including poached eggs, avocado on toast and delicious smoothies. As it is so popular, First Watch does get very busy in the mornings so be prepared for a wait, particularly in high season.
For those needing a new SIM card then T-Mobile is located between the First Watch restaurant and a nail salon. Next to this is a hairdresser’s; pop in if you need a quick trim! Asian food lovers will appreciate Blue Coast Asian Cuisine. Diners can either eat in or use the highly-popular takeaway menu and return to the villa laden with goodies; the food here really is delicious and not over-priced at all. At the time of publishing this blog, a couple of empty shops still need tenants, these sit next to a wellness spa set to open soon and adjoin to Little Greek Fresh Grill, which offers fresh Mediterranean food, with either a dine in or takeaway option. Another hairdresser’s salon sits between this restaurant and the final shop on this side of the road, Huey Magoo's. Chicken nuggets are their speciality, and you can buy them in a bun, wrap, salad or even served up in a bargain bucket – perfect for a feast back at the villa!
Time now to cross to the other side of ChampionsGate Boulevard! Here you will discover a large Publix supermarket offering everything you would expect to find in a supermarket. This store is open until 10pm every night and is the ideal place to pick up the salad and steaks for that family BBQ back at the villa. In the same area as Publix are a number of other shops, including a liquor store, hairdresser’s, dry-cleaner’s, UPS store and a beauty salon which offers manicures, pedicures, facials and massages. If you are feeling peckish, food options in this plaza include a Chinese takeaway, pizza restaurant and an English fish and chip shop in case you are pining for a little taste of home!
No selection of shops and takeaways in America would be complete in America without the obligatory 24-hour McDonald’s and this one also has a drive-thru option for added convenience.
Close to Publix is a 24-hour Walgreens pharmacy, and it’s worth noting that either this or the 7-Eleven store at the nearby petrol station are handy for milk, juice or cookies on the way back from the parks.
Finally, we come to four great restaurants where you can take the whole family. Miller’s Ale House is likely to tickle your taste buds and there is something for everyone on the menu, ranging from freshly prepared salads and pastas, to fantastic steaks and signature grilled chicken dishes. With over 75 beers to choose from, you are bound to find the perfect tipple to complement your meal and quench your thirst, as you enjoy one of the many sports games on the TVs inside the restaurant. Next to Miller’s Ale House is Chili’s, which is famous for its south-west style menu of baby back ribs, fajitas, steaks and more. As you drive further along, you’ll come across Red Robin, great if you fancy a burger with a milkshake and finally Panera Bread, the ideal place to grab some bagels and paninis on your journey to, or from, the theme parks.
You’ll definitely need a sit-down and a drink after exploring all that ChampionsGate has to offer! Take a look at our villas on ChampionsGate, featuring a variety of wonderful properties from 4 to 9 bedroom villas.
