With every taste and budget being catered to in and around Orlando, choosing where to eat each night could always end up in an argument! Everyone will have their own opinion, and with so many tasty dishes from around the world available at so many locations, we’ve decided to pick our ten favourite destinations for a fantastic meal, which are all located around the US192, within a short drive of our villas in the Kissimmee area.

1. Kobe Japanese Steakhouse

From the moment you park and start walking up to the Japanese-inspired architecture, you know that attention to detail is the raison d’être at this Asian-fusion restaurant. Part of a larger chain with 12 outlets in Florida alone, the sights and smells you’ll see before, during and after your meal at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse will stay with you long after you have settled your bill. Specialising in teppanyaki (a style of cuisine which utilises a metal plate on which your food is cooked) and hibachi (a Japanese word translating as ‘fire bowl’, where your dish is cooked on a flaming open-topped bowl or pit) which really makes the food here a kind of spectacle to behold! Choose from fillet steak, chicken, shrimp or fish and watch as the highly-trained chef prepares your meal before your eyes. Other delights on offer include sushi – so if you have always wanted to give it a try, here’s your chance! If dining in the restaurant doesn’t appeal, never fear! You can order online to pick it up from the restaurant, or alternatively arrange for home delivery to your villa!

2. Texas Roadhouse

Ranking in the top 20 restaurants in Orlando is Texas Roadhouse, an eatery filled to the brim with American classics, great steaks, racks of ribs as well as other options such as chicken and fish. You can also ask for your dish to be gluten-friendly! Whilst here don’t forget to try the sides including its trademark Cactus Blossom, which is essentially a large onion, sliced, coated and deep-fried, served with a dip – it sounds odd but it wouldn’t be a classic if it wasn’t immensely popular! Signing up to their newsletter can net you some free stuff, including a complimentary starter!

3. Bonefish Grill

If you are looking for fresh, ethically-sourced and delicious seafood then your destination needs to be Bonefish Grill! After sampling their famous Bang Bang Shrimp starter, feel free to navigate the other delicious items on the menu, including crab cakes, the Mahi Mahi special and Key lime pie, which can all be washed down with their own tempting array of cocktails!

4. Charley’s

Want to try out something a little more ‘Made in Florida’? Charley’s Steakhouse has three branches, all in Florida! Just off the US192 in Celebration you’ll be able to wolf down melt-in-your-mouth steaks, chops, chicken and fresh fish, all cooked over a citrus and oak-burning fire pit! They also are a responsible eatery too, boasting hormone-free beef as well as wild-caught and sustainable seafood that has been sourced that day. On the pricier end of our selection, for those who really want to splash some of their holiday money on a special evening, specialties here include the four-person Colossal Seafood Tower, containing crab meat, legs and claws, and Charley’s Ultimate Surf & Turf, a meal for two people consisting of a 50oz (1.4kg) porterhouse steak and 1lb (453g) of lobster tail!

5. Bahama Breeze

American fare with a Caribbean twist is on offer to all lucky diners at Bahama Breeze. The Tostones with Chicken is a customer favourite, made with plantains, chicken, peppers, cheese and salsa. Other offerings include beef empanadas, buttermilk chicken jibaritos, quesadillas and firecracker shrimp. To get more bang for your buck, head in during happy hour, which is Monday to Friday between 4pm and 6pm or for those staying later, between 9pm and closing time every Sunday to Thursday. You can also order online and pick up your fantastic feast from the restaurant, should you wish to eat it back at the villa.

6. Chuy’s

The only thing taken seriously at Chuy’s is their Tex-Mex food! Plenty of kitsch touches, including an Elvis shrine and hand-carved wooden fish ‘swimming’ across the ceiling may grab your attention, but once you tuck in, it’ll be all about the food! Portions are great in the “Big As Yo’ Face” Burritos, as well as the flautas, enchiladas and fajitas which may fill you up after you’ve already munched through any of the starters, which include nachos, quesadillas or guacamole. You could settle with a salad or soup if the meal combinations such as the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo or the Comida Deluxe don’t tempt you! Meat-free options are available for vegetarian or vegan diners. All of this could be washed down with a Chuy’s Brew, a lime margarita which has an up-turned bottle of beer in the top! More traditional cocktails include sangrias and martinis.

7. Olive Garden

The first entry on our rundown to have two restaurants along the US192! Fantastic Italian-inspired cuisine certain to satisfy every casual diner, all the way up to the self-confessed gourmet! Take your pick from the plethora of Italian classics, such as chicken parmigiana, ravioli, fettuccine and lasagne. If you would rather eat back at your local villa, you can order your food online and pick it up from your nearest restaurant.

8. Miller’s Alehouse

There is plenty for you to dip into at Miller’s Alehouse, with classic American dishes served up in this casual sports bar restaurant. From classic starters such as chicken wings, cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, nachos and flatbreads, served up before meatier fare such as burgers, baby back ribs and steaks. Everyone is sure to get a plateful here, with vegetarians being offered salads, veggie burgers, fettuccine alfredo, as well as veggie and black bean fajitas, so nobody will leave feeling deprived! Although if leaving the comfort of your villa’s pool is too great you could always get your food delivered to you by the restaurant – if you don’t want to use the order and pick-up option!

9. Red Lobster

Seafood lovers are truly spoilt for choice here! Tuck into crab and lobster – still in their shells! Those not a fan of ocean-faring food can try out the many pastas, chicken and steaks available, so never fear if fish isn’t for you! If you want to mix things up a bit, try out their combos, which are bound to make your eyes (as well as your mouth!) water, and your belly rumble in anticipation! Kids get their own menu, containing classic mac and cheese, as well as chicken fingers, popcorn shrimp and even a petite lobster tail! They can also have unlimited refills of skimmed milk. Stretch your budget even further with Happy Hour, which is from 3pm to 6pm every Monday through till Friday.

10. Outback Steakhouse

Visit the Land of Oz at this Australian-themed restaurant chain. Open for lunch and dinner, everyone is welcome, from the carnivores to vegetarians and those avoiding gluten! Dishes to look out for here include the Bloomin’ Onion, Kookaburra Wings, Wood-Fire Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie, Pork Porterhouse and the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under!
