Snowcat Ridge Snow Park Now Open in Florida!
Florida’s first snow park opened just a few weeks ago - it features snow tubing, an alpine village and 100% real snow!
Snowcat Ridge is a one-of-a-kind snow experience, just over an hour away from our villas in Kissimmee and is the only place in Florida with snowy slopes, which are 60ft tall and 400ft long!
“Snowcat Ridge will be unlike anything anyone has seen before in the Sunshine State” Benjamin Nagengast, CEO of Snowcat Ridge.
Attractions at Snowcat Ridge
Snow Tubing on Snowy Slopes
The main attraction here is Snowy Slopes, a 60ft tall tubing hill covered in real snow. Ride down the slope solo, in tandem or as a group of six - the choice is yours! To add to the fun, riders and their snow tubes are transported to the top of the hill on a magic carpet lift.
Each General Admission ticket includes a 2-hour snow tubing session, while the Unlimited Snow Tubing Upgrade includes all-day snow tubing until park closing.
As the sun sets, the slopes light up with a magical light show. The snow park is open until 10pm most days, which makes it a great evening activity for your Orlando holiday.
“Some folks think it’s impossible to experience snow tubing and the joy of snow in Florida. But our team is all about making the impossible, possible.” Mark Bremer, Creative Director of Snowcat Ridge.
Arctic Igloo
The Arctic Igloo is an indoor snow play area. It features real snow, so is the ideal place for building the perfect snowman! Snowballs or “snow fights” are unfortunately not allowed here though. There’s also a bunny slope for riders under 42″ tall, designed especially for children 3 years old and younger.
Each General Admission ticket includes all-day access to the Arctic Igloo.
Alpine Village
Also included in your general admission ticket with all-day access is Alpine Village; a place to relax with a hot drink after enjoying the snow. There are a variety of stalls offering food, drinks, beer, wine and more! Market stalls filled with gifts and crafts can also be found here throughout the holiday season.
The viewing area in Alpine Village is perfect for taking in the nightly Snowy Slopes music & light show, whilst warming up around a fire and roasting some s’mores.
What Clothing Should I Wear at Snowcat Ridge?
Snowcat Ridge recommend wearing warm water-resistant clothing including gloves and boots. Closed toed secure shoes are required on Snowy Slopes and in the Arctic Igloo. There is real snow here, and as we all know, snow is wet, cold and slippery, so appropriate clothing must be worn when visiting. The temperatures within the Artic Igloo hover around 30 degrees Fahrenheit (-1 degrees Celsius), which is pretty cold, especially in Florida. If you wish to visit Snowcat Ridge on your next holiday to Orlando, do pack your suitcase accordingly.
Layering is also recommended, as you might start out cold and then gradually warm up as you play in the snow. A change of clothing may also be handy to bring along with you.
The snow park also sells basic snow gear like hats, gloves and jackets, if you forget to bring anything.
Opening Times and Admission
Snowcat Ridge is open on select dates from November through to March. Daily opening times vary, but the snow park tends to be open from 9am to 10pm most days. All opening times are displayed on their website.
Admission ticket prices range from $29.95 to $39.95, depending on what day and ticket you purchase. It is highly recommended to pre-book your tickets online due to popularity and limited capacity. - General Admission ticket: includes a 2-hour snow tubing session on Snowy Slopes and all-day access to the Arctic Igloo & Alpine Village until park closing.
- Unlimited Snow Tubing + General Admission ticket: includes unlimited snow tubing on Snowy Slopes and all-day access to the Arctic Igloo & Alpine Village until park closing.
