Many new attractions have been delayed or put on hold because of the pandemic, however in 2021 things are set to be back on track in Orlando with lots of new and exciting experiences to discover in the Sunshine State for your next holiday there!
Museum of Illusions at ICON Park
Opening January 2021
Nothing is what it seems at the Museum of Illusions! This unique Museum of optical illusions features more than 50 interactive exhibits based on science, math and psychology. Your senses will swirl as you journey through this world of the weird, experiencing some classic tricks-of-the-eye and a handful of new, unexplored illusions. Don’t forget your camera, as this attraction is filled with some amazing photo ops.
Cirque Du Soleil: Drawn to Life at Disney Springs
Opening February 2021
Theatre is coming back to Orlando, with a brand new show from Cirque Du Soleil! Drawn to Life brings the art of Walt Disney Animation to the stage, reinterpreted through innovative design, acrobatic performances, dazzling choreography, eclectic costuming and an original score inspired by timeless Disney music. This live acrobatic journey tells the story of a determined girl who discovers one last gift left by her animator father: a sequence of unfinished drawings. Guided by a magical pencil and a quirky troupe of imaginative muses, she embarks on an inspiring quest filled with her childhood Disney memories. The show is absolutely alive with all the high-flying, mind-blowing exuberance that Cirque du Soleil is famous for.
Performances of Cirque Du Soleil: Drawn to Life are scheduled to begin on 10th February 2021
Harmonious Firework Show at Epcot
Opening Spring 2021
Located on the World Showcase Lagoon at Epcot, Harmonious will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park! It replaces the famous Illuminations: Reflections of Earth nighttime show, which ran for 20 years. Disney Harmonious will focus on Disney music and how it has the power to inspire people from all around the world, uniting us all.
Five enormous floating platforms have been positioned recently on the World Showcase Lagoon, housing the primary show equipment for the spectacular, featuring custom-built LED panels standing 25ft high, choreographed moving fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, lasers and more. It’s no wonder that it’s taking so long to get the show ready, this is the most complicated and intricate shows Disney has ever developed.

Ice Breaker at SeaWorld
Opening Spring 2021
Launching in Spring 2021, Ice Breaker will be SeaWorld’s first launch coaster! Named after the Arctic summits, this ride will blast guests through four different launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida — a 93ft tall spike with 100-degree angle. Despite its exciting twists, turns, and airtime hills, this roller coaster will be one of the more family-friendly attractions at the park, allowing younger members of your party, who may not be tall enough for Manta or Kraken to ride, to ride.
Iron Gwazi at Busch Gardens
Opening Spring 2021
The newest addition at Busch Gardens will be a wood and steel hybrid coaster, taking thrills to new heights, as it plunge riders from a 206ft tall peak into a 91-degree drop reaching top speeds of 76mph! The roller coaster will feature all-new thrill elements, as well as restored elements of the previous Gwazi attraction, with three inversions and a dozen airtime moments to experience.
Iron Gwazi will be North America’s tallest and the world’s fastest and steepest hybrid coaster!
Velocicoaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure
Opening Summer 2021
A new species of roller coaster is coming to Universal Orlando! Velocicoaster will take riders on a high-speed chase through Jurassic Park’s raptor paddock, experiencing a velociraptor hunt by racing alongside a pack of the dinosaurs. This intense roller coaster has two launches—one of which accelerates to 70mph in 2.4 seconds— and takes riders 155ft in the air, followed immediately by an 80-degree drop, which Universal says is its steepest drop yet. Inspired by the Jurassic World universe, Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and B.D. Wong, who star in the movie, all have a role in the experience. You are sure to feel the rush of the hunt as you race alongside these nimble predators, twisting and soaring above the land and water.
Velocicoaster will be the first Jurassic Park roller coaster for any Universal park!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot
Opening Autumn 2021
An out-of-this-world family coaster is anticipated to open at Epcot next autumn. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind that takes riders up, down, forwards, backwards, and rotating 360 degrees through a planetarium-like exhibition. The adventure will start in the “Galaxarium,” that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. You’ll be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures – until the moment when the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, and adventures across the cosmos ensue.
Featuring a groundbreaking ride system known as an omnicoaster, guests can be rotated along the ride track in any direction while travelling at high speeds. Guests will get to experience new things never done before by Disney, within one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world!
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot
2021 Opening
Based on Disney and Pixar’s hit film, Ratatouille, this new family-friendly attraction will invite you to shrink down to the scale of a rat for a culinary adventure with Chef Remy. Located at World Showcase’s France pavilion at Epcot, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is set to open next year. Disney have not yet announced when next year, but keep an eye on our social media for the most up to date information.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless dark ride featuring 3D film on a series of giant screens. This high energy experience with some oversized kitchen items takes guests on a race scurrying across Gusteau’s kitchen floor, with unpredictable twists and turns.
This new ride will be very similar to Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy at Disneyland Paris.
