Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations Revealed
In 3 months time Walt Disney World in Orlando will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary. The resort have already announced that there will be 18 months of magical celebrations from 1st October, along with more magic which has also been revealed recently for this special event!
As the anniversary approaches, Disney have revealed additional shows and attractions, coming to each of the main Disney theme parks especially for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”.
Two New Nighttime Spectaculars
Fireworks and nighttime shows are finally back at Disney World and it’s even more exciting to hear that two new nighttime spectaculars will debut at the park on 1st October 2021.
Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom: This new nighttime show inspires everyone to believe in magic, featuring music, enhanced lighting, dazzling fireworks, as well as mesmerising projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A! It’s a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment.
Harmonious at Epcot: This will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park and will send spirits soaring with fireworks, fountains, magnificent lighting, visual effects and multimedia magic. It’s a grand, powerful tribute to the stories and songs that unite us. The show will bring the globe together through stunning visuals and the musical magic of Disney songs, as they’re reimagined in over a dozen languages by a diverse ensemble of 240 artists from around the world.
Alongside these shows at Magic Kingdom and Epcot, there will be an additional nighttime experience called Beacons of Magic, which illuminates Cinderella Castle, The Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth and The Hollywood Tower Hotel in the most magical way. Find out more in our previous Disney World blog.
Disney KiteTails Show Coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom
This new daytime entertainment will come alive several times daily at the Discovery River Amphitheater. Performers will fly colourful wind catchers and kites of all shapes and sizes, representing a variety of Disney animal friends. The performance extends to the water as well with elaborate three-dimensional kites – some stretching to 30ft long! This uplighting and vibrant experience, featuring colourful creations dancing through the sky along with your favourite Disney songs, is ideal for the whole family to watch.
Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade
Although the famous Magic Kingdom parade has not yet returned to the Disney park, character cavalcades are the newest addition. These are smaller versions of the original parade, featuring a variety of characters operating a few times a day. Current cavalcades include the Fantasyland Cavalcade, A Goofy Cavalcade, Mickey & Friends Cavalcade and a Royal Princess Processional. This has been popular with current Disney World guests and a great way to still see your favourite characters.
For Disney’s 50th Anniversary celebrations a new cavalcade is coming to the Magic Kingdom park, featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale. All characters will be wearing the sparkling EARidescent anniversary attire, so you certainly won’t miss them. Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade will travel through the park several times daily.
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection
Special golden sculptures of your favourite Disney characters will be displayed across all four theme parks. There will be 50 characters in total in this series of sculptures, as well as surprising ways you will be able to interact with these beautiful models as part of the big celebration.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
This new 4D ride experience at Epcot will also open on 1st October. Within this attraction guests will shrink down to Chef Remy’s size for a culinary adventure that will captivate all your senses as you zip, dash and scurry through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant.
