Howl-O-Scream Comes to SeaWorld Orlando
Some terrifying haunts have washed ashore at SeaWorld Orlando this Halloween, with a brand new nighttime event.
Howl-O-Scream has been at Busch Gardens since October 2000 and is Tampa’s premier Halloween event. For the first time ever it will also now join SeaWorld Orlando for even more frights! It will run from 10th September to 31st October, Thursday to Sunday evenings, 7pm to 2am.
This is a separately-ticketed event, which is aimed at adults due to the content involved, such as violence, gore and blood. Roaming around the park you’ll come across haunted houses, scare zones, spooky shows and themed interactive bars. Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come.
Haunted Houses at SeaWorld
The haunted houses are the favourite places to visit during Howl-O-Scream, so be sure to go to as many as possible to catch the most of the thrills. Each one offers a different terrifying themed experience taking you down dark passageways and around dimly lit corners. The fear is real and there will be no turning back! Take a look at some of the haunted houses coming to SeaWorld:
- Beneath The Ice: A research facility has been lost in the ice and you’re here to join the rescue party to find the survivors, but there are unspeakable horrors as you investigate the scene, shivering from not only the cold!
- Dead Vines: This haunted house takes you on a garden stroll wandering into a terrifying realm of ravenous plants, hidden horrors and something stirring among the trees. Watch out for the mistress of ivy and evil, who’s poisoned the woods and is causing all the ominous behaviour. Can you escape from the jungle before it’s too late?!
- Captain’s Revenge: For the Captain’s Revenge, guests are taken into the murky depths of a ship, where a terrifying force has cursed the whole crew. Creaks and groans fill the musty air as you search for the captain who swore revenge on you. Let’s hope you don’t get lost below deck and they find permanent quarters for you.
Howl-O-Scream Scare Zones and Roaming Haunts
There is nowhere to hide when walking around SeaWorld during Howl-O-Scream, with scare zones and roaming haunts around every corner. Stay alert and be prepared for anything, because you never know what’s waiting up ahead (or creeping up behind you).
- Frozen Terror: You may have escaped from the snow-entombed research facility, but you’re still not safe as the inhospitable Arctic wasteland is swarming with icy, subhuman walkers with pickaxes and shovels.
- Witchcraft Bayou: There’s no way around this marshy lake, but it’s hazardous to pass through it! The powerful lure of the worshippers will try to shackle you with their spells, so be sure to stay alert or dark magic will drag down.
- Sea of Souls: Steer clear of this horrific shipwreck with its marauding and angry souls of pirates.
Halloween Themed Bars for Howl-O-Scream
Enjoy a refreshing drink between frights at these impressive themed bars, featuring some sinister interactive surprises.
- Tormented: This bar is the ideal place to take refuge from the chilling terrors of the Arctic hellscape outside. For the mischievous ones, you can get involved with frightening fellow expeditioners while they are braving the horrors beneath the ice.
- Poison Grotto: Keep your eyes open in this bar as you explore the enticing atmosphere, away from the deadly vines and savage servants nearby. Be sure to pay respect to the one who invited you in - she keeps an eye on everyone that walks into the Poison Grotto.
- Longshoremen Tavern: This is the place where the pirates warm their bellies with rum. They are dying to entertain people again, so take a break from the monsters, plant your weary hides, and join the merriment.
SeaWorld Rides After Dark
Your favourite rides and attractions will stay open into the night for Howl-O-Scream, so you get to experience them in the dark with a splash of extra fear.
Terrifying Shows, DJs and Party Zones
Howl-O-Scream also has some spooky entertainment for the evening including a musical performance called Monster Stomp, which tells the story of Jack the Ripper. Watch him take the stage in a way you’ve never seen before in this modern rock and rhythm spectacular.
Come across Halloween party zones around SeaWorld during this nighhtime event, where you can show off your dance moves to the ominous music played by the DJs.
SeaWorld Spooktacular Returns (weekends 18th Sept - 31st Oct)
Although SeaWorld has a new event for 2021, it will still continue with its daytime Halloween event for families. There’s lots of spooky fun to look forward to including a trick or treat trail, character meet and greets with your favourite Sesame Street friends, a Halloween dance party and the chance to meet some Halloween mermaids. All guests can dress up in their Halloween costumes for the SeaWorld Spooktacular event.
We’re excited to see how this once-peaceful park transforms with fear after nightfall. Let’s just hope we can get out to Florida soon and experience some frightening fun at these new Halloween events in Orlando.
