Last Day in Orlando
The final day of a holiday is always a whirlwind. There's the rush to guarantee everything is packed, where to store your suitcases for the day whilst wanting to savour every moment before checking out of your villa. Don't worry, we have a helpful guide to ensure your departure day is as stress-free as possible.
Last minute Villa Checks
Once you've finished packing up, you might find yourself wandering around the villa, thinking, "What else?" Well, first things first, it's time for a thorough check under the beds and in every nook and cranny to make sure nothing's been left behind. Usually, checkout is 10 am, unless you've arranged for a later departure. Just a heads up, your villa access code deactivates at that time. Before bidding farewell to your home away from home, it's important to double-check your flight details to avoid any potential delays or surprises. Also, if time allows, we kindly ask that you strip the beds and start a load of laundry in the washing machine. Don't forget to load and start the dishwasher, too.
Luggage Storage
There are a lot of companies who offer to take your luggage off your hands and take them to the airport for you, such as Hold My Luggage and Bounce. Luggage storage leaves you handsfree to make the most of your last day on holiday. Sending your luggage for storage before jetting off from Orlando comes with some serious perks! With your stuff safely tucked away, you're free to dive headfirst into the day's adventures without feeling weighed down. Imagine strolling through the parks, hitting up those last-minute souvenir shops, and indulging in some epic eats without having to worry about lugging your luggage through the crowds. You can also rent a day room at many hotels in the area such as Hyatt which can be found at MCO. If, on the other hand, you prefer to have your luggage close by, some restaurants and clubhouses might provide you with the option to store it temporarily during the day. However, it's advisable to check in advance to avoid any disappointment or being turned away at the door. Make sure you have kept your important documents with you such as your passport and travel documentation.
How to Spend your last day
Undoubtedly, you'll want to savour every remaining moment of your holiday before embarking on the long flight home. If you haven't arranged a late checkout for your villa, you might find yourself unsure of how to fill the day. You may want to soak up the last bits of magic at Disney Springs. Stepping into the cool, refreshing air-conditioned spaces, you have an array of food spots and shops to explore. There are so many restaurants from classic American dishes to international flavours. Disney Springs offers a variety of stores too, helping you to find those last-minute souvenirs and gifts to bring back home. Of course there are alternatives, you could spend your last day perusing around the Orlando malls for some souvenir shopping, one last meet with Moana or your favourite Disney characters or head back to one of your favourite places for brunch before you go.
Car Hire
If you have rented your car, you will need to take this back to the drop off location unless stated otherwise. Have you got any tips for how to spend your last day in Orlando?
