Journey into space on this futuristic indoor roller coaster. Space Mountain opened in 1975 and has always been Magic Kingdom’s most popular attraction! Riders are transported into the darkness of the galaxy, with some superb effects that provide you with a similar experience to a space flight.
- It's dark, has some drops and twists and it's really fun!
- A pretty awesome indoor roller coaster. It's not the fastest coaster around but it sure is a blast to ride.
- My favourite ride! It's pitch black, and looks and feels like you're in space!
Tips & Facts
- Reaches speeds of up to 28mph.
- If you don't want to ride this attraction but still want to catch a sneak peak, ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. It goes right through Space Mountain.
- The idea for this ride originated with Walt Disney in the 1960s, but the technology did not exist to bring his vision to life until 1970s.
