Cirque Du Soleil Returns to Disney World
For many years, Disney Springs has been home to the famous Cirque Du Soleil show. In November 2021 a new version of the show is set to begin within the famous big white tent, as the acrobatics return to Disney.
Experience Disney animation like never before in this new show called Drawn to Life, which is the first-ever collaboration between Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering. After its long-awaited opening date due to the pandemic, the show will finally begin on 18th November 2021, continuing until 31st December 2022. It’s the perfect addition to the Walt Disney World resort and comes at the right time, fitting in perfectly with the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebrations.
If you’ve been to Orlando before you are likely to have heard of La Nouba, which was the original Cirque Du Soleil show to come to Disney World. It ran for 19 years from 1998 to 2017!
The Drawn to Life Story
Drawn to Life is filled with high-flying, mind-blowing exuberance that Cirque du Soleil is famous for. It brings you a story of the love between a father and his daughter. Julie is the main character in the show, a courageous and determined girl who discovers an unexpected gift left by her late father: a sequence of unfinished animation pieces.
From here, the stage is transformed into a giant animation table, where Julie embarks on a journey, guided by a surprising pencil, which takes her back to many of her Disney childhood memories. Drawings come alive through delightful, mesmerising movements of Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatic mastery, alongside timeless Disney music.
Walt Disney World guests and Cirque Du Soleil fans of all ages are set to be wowed by this entirely new show, bringing Disney stories and animation to life in a new and unforgettable way.
“We are incredibly inspired by Disney’s immense creative universe. We are convinced that bringing Disney’s magic to life on stage will touch audiences and bring them back to their childhood.” Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group
